I'd like to speak publicly, but every time I type something I just "tell" it to the same person.
Your chat mode may still be set to "tell" if you did not change your chat mode after speaking to a specific character. If you would like to switch to another chat mode, target yourself and press the confirm button. Highlight the "Chat" selection from the action command menu and press the right or left directional button to choose another chat mode, such as "say," from the list.
