How do I redeem my free digital copy of Stormblood expansion?
For a limited time, the digital download version of FINAL FANTASY XIV: Stormblood is currently available free* to existing owners and new purchasers of FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Starter Edition (includes FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn and the first expansion, FINAL FANTASY XIV: Heavensward). Offer ends on May 8th at 6:59 a.m. PDT.
To register your free* digital copy of FINAL FANTASY XIV: Stormblood and download the expansion, please review the section below relevant to your platform and follow the instructions. *Requires an active paid service subscription to FINAL FANTASY XIV Online.

*For all newly created Service Accounts, user registration and service subscription are required to play the game. The 30-day free play period included with purchase can only be applied once to each platform on a single Service Account. Moreover, this 30-day free play period is not applicable to platforms on which a license has already been registered.
FINAL FANTASY: Stormblood from PlayStation Store - during the campaign period, this purchase will be free. On PlayStation®4 or PlayStation®5 it is not necessary to redeem any codes. You’ll be prompted to link your Stormblood license to your Service Account the next time you log into the game.
Please view this article if you accidentally registered your expansion to the wrong Square Enix Account or Service Account.
Please compare the first four digits of your 20-digit code against the table below:
FINAL FANTASY: Stormblood from the SQUARE ENIX Store or Steam - during the campaign period this purchase will be free.
Log in to the Mog Station with your Square Enix account.
If you have multiple Service Accounts, select the Service Account you want to register the code on.
Select "Additional Expansions" and follow the instructions on-screen (note that you must have FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Starter Edition registered for the platform you are trying to redeem Stormblood on).
*If Mog Station presents an “invalid code” error message when you try to redeem your Stormblood code, you will need to check that your FINAL FANTASY XIV account is a full Service Account and that you own the Starter Edition on the platform (Steam, PC, or Mac) that matches your Stormblood code. You will only be able to redeem your Stormblood code on Mog Station and access the content of the expansion if you have met these requirements. Your code will not expire should you prefer to redeem it later, even after the promotional period ends on May 8, 2023.
Start the FINAL FANTASY XIV Online launcher and log in with your Square Enix account.
Stormblood will be downloaded automatically.
A Note for Steam Users Windows PC and Steam are treated as separate platforms. Please note that if you own the Steam version of FINAL FANTASY XIV, you will have to start the client from Steam as well. It is not possible to log into a Steam Service Account using the regular Windows client.
Steam users can find their 20-digit Stormblood registration code by navigating to their Steam game library. Right-click on "FINAL FANTASY XIV Online", select "Manage" and then "CD keys". All your FINAL FANTASY XIV codes will be listed there, including the Stormblood expansion code.

If you receive an "invalid code" error message when you try to redeem your Stormblood code, please check that:
your FINAL FANTASY XIV account is a full Service Account
you own the Starter Edition on the platform (Steam, PC, or Mac) that matches your Stormblood code
your Stormblood code is issued for the correct region if you're using a Windows or Mac license (if your account is EU, the first 4 digits should read RS3E/RJ3E, if your account is NA it should read RS3U/RJ3U)
You will only be able to redeem your Stormblood code on Mog Station and access the content of the expansion if you have made sure of the above.

You will need to purchase or own the Starter Edition of FINAL FANTASY XIV in order to access the content in your free digital copy of Stormblood. The Starter Edition includes FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn, and the first expansion, FINAL FANTASY XIV: Heavensward.
After acquiring your free digital copy of Stormblood on either the Square Enix Store, PlayStation Store, or Steam Store, you will be able to follow the registration process outlined in this article any time afterwards to access the content.
You can obtain your free digital copy of Stormblood on your preferred platform during the promotional period of March 27 – May 8, 2023. However, if you wish to access Stormblood content, you will need to purchase the Starter Edition of FINAL FANTASY XIV, which will require you to upgrade your Free Trial account to a full Service Account with all its associated benefits. The Starter Edition comes with a 30-day free subscription period. Once the 30-day free subscription period has elapsed, you will need to pay a monthly subscription to continue accessing FINAL FANTASY XIV Online.
Once your Service Account is upgraded to a full Service Account on any platform, you will no longer be able to revert back to a Free Trial account.
