In case the Steam copy of the game won’t start, or if you experience performance issues while playing the game, try the workaround described below:
1) Click on the Windows icon at the bottom left of the screen to open the Start Menu, and click the cogwheel icon to access your Settings.
2) In the Settings window, select System > Display, and scroll down to the bottom of the page and select “Graphics settings”.
3) In “Graphics performance preference”, find and add “CHRONOCROSS.exe”. Once added, click “Options” and select “High performance”, then click “Save”.
- Unless you’ve manually changed the install path, “CHRONOCROSS.exe” can be found in the following folder: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\CHRONO CROSS THE RADICAL DREAMERS EDITION”.
- Note that if the “Graphics performance preference” is set to “Power saving”, the game will only use your motherboard’s integrated graphics processor instead of your GPU.
- Ensure that your GPU is being used while running the game by opening the Task Manager and checking the usage of “GPU1”.
