■ Sound is not being played back properly
If the in-game music or sound effects are not being played back properly, it is possible that the sound files have either been corrupted or that there is an issue with a sound-related peripheral device or the driver software. Please try these troubleshooting steps to see if they resolve the issue:
▼ Perform a system update on your PlayStation®5/PlayStation®4
Perform the most recent system update and then try a version update for FINAL FANTASY XIV Online.
PlayStation®5: The update can be performed from the home menu by selecting
[Settings] → [System] → [System Software] → [System Software Update]
PlayStation®4: The update can be performed from the home menu by selecting [Settings] → [System Software Update]
▼ Check various configuration settings for the game
Check to see if playback of any sounds have been turned off via the in-game menus.
▼ Check the connection between the audio output equipment (TV, speakers, receiver, etc.) and the PlayStation®5/PlayStation®4.
If an HDMI cable is used for the connection, removing it and re-inserting it may resolve the issue. Loose cables may cause sound and display issues.
▼ Check the audio output settings
PlayStation®5: From the home menu, go to [Settings] → [Sound] → [Audio Output]
PlayStation®4: From the home menu, go to [Settings] → [Sound and Screen] → [Audio Output Settings]
The audio output settings for Final Fantasy XIV Online are as follows:
・2ch LPCM
・5.1ch LPCM
・5.1ch DTSDigital Surround
・5.1ch DolbyDigital
▼ Re-install FINAL FANTASY XIV Online
If the installed data has been corrupted, the issue may be resolved by re-installing the game.
■ Cannot input text
If you cannot input text in the PlayStation®4 version, please try these steps:
▼ Check whether the issue only occurs in-game
For example, see if you can input text in the PlayStation™Store or log-in fields.
If you cannot input text in the home menu, it is possible that there is an issue with your console or peripherals.
▼ Remove the keyboard from your PlayStation®5/PlayStation®4 and re-insert
If input is malfunctioning temporarily, re-connecting the keyboard may resolve the issue.
▼ Insert the keyboard in a different port
Insert the keyboard in a different USB port on your PlayStation®5/PlayStation®4 to determine if there are issues with the USB port.
