A regional data center is a facility that manages various information such as character and server data. There are currently twelve (12) data centers located in different parts of the world:

 - Light

■ Oceania
 - Materia

■ Japan
 - Elemental
 - Gaia
 - Mana
 - Meteor

While you are able to play on any data center regardless of the Square Enix Account region, choosing to play on a regional data center in closer proximity to your physical location may reduce latency for a smoother game experience.
