Although this game uses a traditional, turn-based battle system, it also has a unique twist that ties into the story.  Here, players must switch between Soloe and Pair commands if they wish to be successful in battle.  Upon selecting a command, you can choose to have your couple act separately (Solo) or together (Pair).  By doing this, you can have each character make the best use of their abilities or have them concentrate their attacks on a single foe.
