To celebrate the 25th anniversary of FINAL FANTASY IX, we invite fans to send us their artistic creations!
Please review the following Submission Guidelines (hereinafter referred to as "Submission Guidelines") and ensure you agree to all terms before submitting your artwork. By submitting, you are considered to have agreed to these guidelines. We eagerly await your incredible fan art!

Submission Guidelines

Territories
This project is open only to individuals who are legal residents and physically and permanently located in one of the following countries/territories at the date and time of entry:

• Europe, South America, North America, Africa, Oceania, and Asia but excluding Japan, China, Turkey, Russia, Republic of Korea, Hong Kong, Macao, and wherever prohibited by law.

Submission Period
Currently 7 July 2025 to 31 October 2025.
Dates may slightly vary.

Age Limit
This project is only open to individuals 13 years of age or older and who have reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence, at the date and time of entry.

How to Submit an Entry
Once you have accepted these terms, you will be shown an application form where you will enter all required information and attach your fan art as an image file. Please be aware that we are unable to accept applications through any other method, such as by mail, courier, or personal delivery.

Please note, even if the artwork is submitted via the application form, it will not be eligible for submission if it does not meet the criteria outlined below.

Theme
Fan art based on FINAL FANTASY IX.

Fan Art criteria

• Fan art must be based on the Theme
• Fan art can include digital illustrations, or scans and photographs of non-digital artwork, such as hand drawn pictures or even cuisine.
• Reproduction of screenshots, pre-existing illustrations, graphics, logos, etc., from FINAL FANTASY IX is prohibited.
• Submitted artwork that contains the following may not be considered as a valid entry:
  • Content that deviates from the theme
  • Content that infringes or may infringe on the rights (copyright, reputation, privacy, etc.) of SQUARE ENIX Co., Ltd. or third parties
  • Graphic imagery (excessive mutilation, injury, blood, etc.), excessive exposure, sexual content, or anything that could cause discomfort to others
  • Content that violates public morals or order
  • Content that includes personally identifiable information
  • Content created by generative artificial intelligence tools (AI)
  • Content that includes defamatory, discriminatory, or threatening expressions toward specific individuals or groups
  • Content that imitates the work of others

Fan Art Selection
If your fan art is chosen, it may be featured on the official FINAL FANTASY Portal Site (https://finalfantasy.com/). It may also be featured in official social network account posts, events, websites, etc. hosted by the SQUARE ENIX Co., Ltd. or specified third parties.

Please note that the presentation of the fan art, including any resizing, partial display, cropping, printing, modifications, or whether or not the nickname is displayed, will be determined at the discretion of SQUARE ENIX Co., Ltd. Please submit your application only if you agree to these terms.

Whether or not fan art and the artist’s nickname are presented, together with the location and timing of said presentation, will also be determined at the discretion SQUARE ENIX Co., Ltd.

Regarding the Posting of Fan Art to Social Media
We encourage participants to submit their fan art to any social media platform too! If you do, please use the #FFIX25FanArt hashtag.

Please be aware that posting fan art on social media alone does not constitute eligibility for presentation on the FINAL FANTASY Portal Site. Participants must apply via the form provided.

Regarding the Use of Personal Information
Personal information submitted as part of the application is handled and protected as outlined in the SQUARE ENIX Co., Ltd. (or relevant SQUARE ENIX) privacy policy, which can be found here https://www.square-enix-games.com/en_GB/documents/privacy. If you agree to the Submission Guidelines, SQUARE ENIX Co., Ltd and its affiliates may use your name, likeness, social media names and/or handles, avatars, profile images, and any other information requested only for the purposes of this fan art project.

Copyright
You grant a licence (i.e., permission) to SQUARE ENIX Co., Ltd. and its affiliate companies, and their agents and licensees to edit, publish, re-post, re-tweet, broadcast, reproduce, prepare derivative works of, distribute, publicly perform, publicly display, and otherwise use and exploit your fan art (with or without any accompanying comments and information like your handle and profile picture) only for purposes of this fan art project in any and all media throughout the world.
