This is a follow-up to the issue wherein the macro and configuration settings on certain characters were reset after the World merge which took place on Mar. 27, 2012.
A fix for this issue will be applied during the emergency maintenance that is scheduled to take place on Mar. 29. This fix will automatically restore macro and configuration settings on affected characters to their status before the World merge was performed.
* Once the emergency maintenance is completed, the restoration will take effect when you logout of the game and return to the Character Selection screen, or when you logout by entering “/logout” in the log widget. Please be aware that the restoration will not occur if you shut down the game after logging out or enter “/shutdown” in the log widget.
* The fix will not apply to characters whose macro and configuration settings were not reset after the World merge.
Therefore, if you prefer to continue using the macro and configuration settings which you created after they were reset, please complete the steps below before the emergency maintenance begins to copy over saved files.
[How to Save Macro and Configuration Settings]
User data such as macro settings are saved inside \My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV\user\ and are separated by folder for each character (folders are labeled with 8 letters and numbers).
The creation date on the folder corresponds to the date that character was created. Please use Windows Explorer to find the creation date of the folder, then copy the ‘game,’ ‘ui,’ and ‘mcr*(asterisk is a number) files from the folder which was created after the World merge save them in a different location.
After the conclusion of the emergency maintenance, first logout of the game and return to the Character Selection screen or enter “/logout” in the log widget to apply the restoration. Then, select the same 3 files above and replace them with the new ones that are created in the folder. This will allow you to keep your macro and configuration settings.
Please use caution when copying over these data, as accidentally deleting these files may prevent you from restoring your macro and configuration settings.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience.
