Following the implementation of patch 1.19, we have confirmed an issue wherein the server goes down when players logout or change areas in high population areas such as the Ul’dah Market Wards where the server load is at its highest. We are currently preparing a countermeasure for this issue; however, it will still take some time before it is implemented.
Therefore, we will be performing a preliminary maintenance on the markets of Ul’dah at 6:00 p.m. on Oct. 5, 2011 (PDT) for the duration of 15 minutes. As a result, retainers placed in these areas will be removed. In addition, after this emergency maintenance is complete, we may perform additional maintenance work if the servers become overloaded once again. If this is the case, we will stream an in-game message notifying players of the additional emergency maintenance.
Server load is expected to rise again in the near future, so we ask that you please refrain from using the markets of Ul’dah until we have finished implementing the countermeasure.
We deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.
