How do I log into FINAL FANTASY XI?
In order to log into FINAL FANTASY XI, simply follow these steps:
1) Open the PlayOnline Viewer.
2) Choose the member profile containing your PlayOnline ID.
NOTE: If you have a Member Password set, you will need to enter it now. For simplicity’s sake, you do not need a Member Password unless you anticipate that multiple users will be accessing the PlayOnline Viewer from the same console.
3) Select “Log In.”
4) Enter your SQUARE ENIX Password and One-Time Password (if you have one).
NOTE: A One-Time Password is only required if you have linked a Security or Software Token to the account. If you do not possess either a Security or Software Token, do NOT enter a one-time password.
5) Click on Connect.
* If you encounter the error “The Playonline ID or Password is Incorrect,” please ensure you are using the correct PlayOnline Password and ID. The PlayOnline Password is unique to the PlayOnline ID and can be referenced on the SQUARE ENIX Account Management website. You can check your ID and reset your password by following the directions here.
* If you encounter the error POL-5311, that means the SQUARE ENIX Password is incorrect. Remember, the SQUARE ENIX Password is the password used to log into the SQUARE ENIX Account Management website.
* If you encounter the error POL-5312, please ensure the correct SQUARE ENIX ID is entered on the Settings page.
6) Click on the FINAL FANTASY XI option.
7) Click on the Play option.
* If you encounter the error that states that you need to link your Content IDs, please follow the directions listed here.
8) Read each notice and any announcements and choose the appropriate option.
NOTE: If your game needs to be updated, the client will advise you to click “Update” to log in. The “Back” button will take you back to the previous screen.
9) If you would like to select a pre-existing character, choose Select Character. If you would like to create a new character, choose Create Character.
10) Select the character you wish to use or begin the character creation process.
