In order for you to play the game, you must have DirectX 5.0-compliant drivers for your video card. Please note that although DirectX 5.0 is installed with the game, your video card drivers will not be upgraded to DirectX 5.0 drivers. You will need to obtain the latest compliant drivers from your card manufacturer. DirectX 6 or higher has had mixed results with Final Fantasy 7 and is not recommended for use with the game. Occasionally it has helped with the game, but more often it creates problems. Any problems you have with DirectX 6 or higher must be addressed to Microsoft.
